Charcoal Oven

Last year the Charcoal Oven celebrated its’ 50th anniversary! That’s right, this Oklahoma City landmark began in 1958, and it’s still one of the best. The Oven is located at 2701 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City. The hickory sauce is unique there and recommended. If it’s your first trip, start with the #1 and curly fries.

Back in the early 60’s, the Charcoal Oven was on the crusin’ circuit for the kids from the northwest side of town. The Charcoal Oven, The Delta, & Split-T were the places to be, and to be seen! I still remember a burger and coke for 45¢. I guess that’s really showing my age! But those were really good times.

You’ll find the Charcoal Oven listed at our other site in the dining guide.
